About Dr. Jose "Joe" Dalino

Dr. Joe Dalino was born in troubled Mindanao, Southern Philippines. He did not have an enchanted childhood as there were 16 of them in the family. His father and mother worked in the kaingin (hills). They were slash-burn farmers. It was a hard life indeed! It was in Banga, South Cotabato that he grew up with playmates who were B'laans, hard working mountain people. Dr. Dalino had to stop studying because of poverty. From then on he helped earn for the family. The street was his school of foolish deeds. He learned to be really bad for the sake of survival. In 1966 he heard the Gospel for the first time. He saw himself as a real poor sinner and literally dirty. He committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and later responded to God's call for service.

In July 1, 1970 he enrolled as a working student at Ebenezer Bible College and Seminary in Zamboanga City, Philippines and graduated in March 20, 1976 with a Bachelor of Ministerial Studies degree. In March 26, 1982, he graduated with a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) degree from Asian Theological Seminary, Quezon City. In March 21, 1992, he earned a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degree at the Philippine Christian University, Manila, Philippines. His dissertation is “Non-Formal Education for Church Leadership in New Congregations in Philippine Barangays” (A proposed Curriculum for Church Leadership in the Philippines through a Para Church Organization).

In March 1972, Dr. Dalino already started serving as Student Pastor then as Youth Pastor, Evangelist, Ordained Minister and later as Bishop with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines, (CAMACOP). In May 1994, he was confirmed as Evangelist-at-Large by CAMACOP National Board of Trustees until May 2001 when he was elected as President of CAMACOP during the General Assembly in Zamboanga City, where he served as President in June 2001 to May 2005, during his term he led CAMACOP out of the culture of financial deficit and spearheaded the planting of 436 new churches, under “HARVEST 500 BY 2005”. CAMACOP has 2,342 local churches, 33 missionaries serving in 11 countries. In July 2005, he was confirmed as International Evangelist by CAMACOP National Board of Trustees to serve the Body of Christ worldwide in partnership with International Bible Conference and Oakridge Ministries, under the leadership of Rev. Brian Ball. In his ministry, he has been exposed to a variety of preaching and teaching ministries. In May 1983 to April 1994 for 11 years served as a CAMACOP loan worker with Ambassadors for Christ as National Director in the Philippines, and Regional Coordinator for AFC International North Pacific Region. He also served on their International Council. In the past three decades, Dr. Dalino has traveled extensively in Asia, the Pacific, Europe, Australia, Canada and the United States.

In 1994 to 1996, Dr. Dalino served as adjunct professor in the Doctor of Ministry Program at Philippine Christian University - Union Theological Seminary, Manila, Philippines, teaching “Evangelism Today” and a course on “Discipleship Formation”. In 2006 he taught “Leadership and Local Church Administration”, then in 2007 a course on “Models of Church Praxis and Spirituality”. Currently, he is also an adjunct professor at the Alliance Graduate School, Quezon City, Philippines (formerly Alliance Biblical Seminary) teaching a course on “Theology and Practice of Evangelism” Quezon City campus and a course on “Family Life” in the innovative off campus program.
